MANILA, Philippines - Cignal HD braces for a big Centro Escolar U comeback but remains confident of a repeat as the Hawkeyes gun for a sweep of the Foundation Cup crown today and a second straight PBA D-League championship.
The Hawkeyes dominated the opener of their best-of-three series, leading from start to finish on their way to a 78-56 romp that lined them up for a follow-up to the Aspirants’ Cup feat in their maiden season.

Despite their 22-point blowout in Game One, Cignal HD coach Boyet Fernandez has cautioned his wards against taking the Scorpions for granted, citing CEU’s ability to bounce back the way it did against heavily favored Flying V in the semifinal round.
Down 0-1, the Scorpions shocked the erstwhile unbeaten top seed Thunder, not once but twice to steal the other finals berth.
