The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – The country’s top motorcycle riders go for it one last time  in the sixth and final legs of the 2016 Pirelli Superbikes Championship Series, 2016 FDR Phl Scooter Racing Championship Series and 2016 FDR Underbone King Championship Series  Sunday at the Clark International Speedeway in Pampanga.

Marvin Mangulabnan of BMW Racing Team is poised to be crowned champion in the 2016 Pirelli Superbikes Series,  part of the 2016 Eneos Philippine Motorsports Championship season sanctioned by the Superbikes Racing Association (SBRA) and sponsored by Pirelli and Eneos with media partners Inside Racing Magazine, Torque Magazine, Motorcycle World Magazine, Motorsiklo Xklusibo @ DZME 1530, Driven2Ride Philippines, Motorsiklo News Magazine and BMW Motorad.

Back-to-back victories in the last two legs installed Mangulabnan as top contender for the coveted Superbikes plum with 232 points.

Barring any incident, Mangulabnan only needs to finish sixth in the pre-final and final races to seal the championship that will make him the third new generation superbikes champion after Dashi Watanabe of Kawasaki and Raniel Resuello who’s now riding for the Rgutz-Wheeltek Racing Team.
