71 teams vie in BEST WVL

MANILA, Philippines - The BEST Center opens the 19th season of the Women’s Volleyball League tomorrow with 71 teams competing in four divisions at the Xavier School High School courts.

A recipient of the prestigious Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Hall of Fame Award, the WVL will have 13 schools competing in the 13-Under Developmental Division, seven in the 13-Under Competitive Division, 29 in the 17-Under Developmental Division and 22 in the 17-Under Competitive Division.

The Best Center was founded by its president Nic Jorge, a former national coach while Florentino “Kid” Santos serves as the WVL commissioner.
