TRS Day caps racing season

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - TRS Race Day capped a successful season with a finale filled with unexpected turn of events and surprise wins recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

JP Tuason, founder and president of the organizing Tuason Racing School, described the event as “the most memorable TRS Raceday” that aptly wrapped up Tuason Racing School’s 15th year celebration.

He thanked corporate partners Bridgestone,Standard Insurance, Puma, Coke Zero, Acer, OMP, C!Magazine, Oakley, Aguila Auto Glass, Go Pro, Speedlab, Lifeline Ambulance, Wurth, Karate Kid, Toptul, Elig, Bellevue, Rota, Brembo and Has Travel for their support to TRS, the longest running and only professional racing school in the country.

The top title contenders stepped on the gas and engaged in neck and neck battles that kept the crowd’s eyes focused on the race all the way to the finish line.

Baguio-native Carlos Anton completed his successful comeback after a five-year hiatus, ruling three of the last four races to capture the Philippine Touring Car Championship crown. His last victory was way back in 2003.

Anton knew he’d be facing a tough battle against title rival and 2010 champion Joey Pery, who was just nine points behind. But he pulled it off in the end, winding up the series with a total of 206 points, beating Pery by 27.
