Abalos re-elected W Wack president

Comelec chair Benjamin Abalos Sr. was re-elected last week for a third term as president of Wack Wack Golf & Country Club.

A former caddie who grew up with Wack Wack as his second home, Abalos was first elected president of the club in June 2000 and was re-elected in 2002. His parents met and worked at the club as locker attendants until their retirement.

The other elected club officers and committee chairmen are:

Gabriel Villareal, vice president and chairman, Membership & Auction Committee, Grounds Committee, and Legal Committee; Tommy Tan, treasurer and chairman, House — F & B and Banquets Committee; Dionne Cu, corporate secretary and chairman, Club Personnel & Caddie Development Committee; Pablo Soon, director and chairman, Sports & Games Committee; Lincoln Chen, director and chairman, Finance & Audit Committee; Thomas Diokno, director and chairman, Infrastructure Committee; Benjamin Guevara, director and chairman, Fellowship Committee; and Antonio Tuason, director.

One major decision that the new Wack Wack Board is expected to make shortly pertains to the installation of a new irrigation system in the East Course and improvement of its drainage system.
