PAGCOR namigay ng maagang pamasko

MANILA, Philippines – Isang maagang Pamasko para sa mga national athletes at coaches mula sa Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Ibinigay ng PAGCOR ang kabuuang P7.9 mil-yon na cash incentives para sa mga national athletes at coaches na nanalo sa mga nilahukang major international competitions ngayong taon.

Ang P2.5 milyon ay tinanggap ng 16-anyos na archer na si Luis Gabriel Moreno na tumudla ng gold medal sa 22nd Youth Olympics Games sa Nanjing, China noong Agosto.

Sinabi ni PAGCOR president at COO Jorge Sarmiento na ang naturang cash incentives ay na-ngangahulugan ng pagbibigay nila ng motibasyon sa mga atleta sa kanilang pagkatawan sa bansa sa mga susunod na international tournaments.

“Rewarding our national athletes after they emerged triumphant in any international event is not only recognizing them for what they have achieved but a demonstration of PAGCOR’s sincere appreciation for the efforts they have exerted to carry the nation proudly on their shoulders,” sabi ni Sarmiento.

Ipinamigay ng PAGCOR ang P5.4 milyon sa 15 national athletes at coaches na nag-uwi ng gold, silver at bronze medals sa nakaraang 17th Asian Games sa Incheon, Korea noong Setyembre 19-Oktubre 4.

Ang pagbibigay ng PAGCOR ng insentibo ay alinsunod sa Republic Act 9064 o mas kilala bilang  Sports Benefits and Incentives Act of 2001.
