YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

A reliable source, Salve A., whispered to us that it’s almost a done deal that Nora Aunor will be proclaimed a National Artist anytime soon.

She beat daw comedian Dolphy, who was himself in the running for the title, by several points.

“Suwerte ni Guy (Nora’s pet name),” said our informer. “At least, buhay pa siya when chosen for the highly coveted title ng kahit sinong artists of any arts.

“Unlike Fernando Poe, Jr. na namayapa na nang napasakanya ang nabanggit na titulo.”

Love story nina Boots at Atty. King nagsimula sa hikaw

At the lunch organized by Boots Anson Roa for her dear friends in the industry, so they can formally meet her fiancée, lawyer Francisco “King” Rodrigo Jr., son of the late Senator “Soc,” at the Annabel’s Restaurant in Morato, Quezon City, Boots was in her element.

“Akala mo ngayon lang siya ikakasal,” said a fellow entertainment columnist, beaming. “She didn’t look like she’s 68.”

Her would-be husband is 74. He has four children, all grown at may kanya-kanya nang sariling pamilya tulad din ni Boots.

Well, how the two met, anang kaibigan ni Boots, ay parang kuwento na pang-Maalaala  Mo Kaya (MMK), the long-time running anthology on ABS-CBN, hosted by Charo Santos Concio.

Yes, including Atty. King who was seated in another table.

As you guessed right, si Atty. King ang unang nakahanap ng hikaw. Hayan, dahil sa hikaw, nagsimula ang romansa between Atty. King at Boots, na mauuwi sa kasalan come June next year.

Sabi nga, pag-ukol, bubukol, ‘di ba Salve A?

Three new faces are added to the cast of the third sequel to the much loved Kimmy Dora movie, which has versatile actress Eugene Domingo playing the twin title role. Yes, in the three sequels, including the latest, titled Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel and directed this time by Chris Martinez.

Well, the three new faces are Joel Torre, Sam Milby, and Angel Aquino.

All three admit they are all grateful to be included sa pelikula. They never had much fun doing a movie, they all said.

While in the first Kimmy Dora: Kambal Na Kiyeme, twin Kimmy, the eloquent and adamant of the two (she graduated from college, summa cum laude) and Dora, the naïve and yet sweet one, battled for the business of their tycoon father (played by   Ariel Ureta as Luisito Go Dong Hae), and, likewise, the attention of Johnson (Dingdong Dantes), in the sequel, Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme, nagkaroon ng horror.

In this installment, likewise, the twins get married to their respective loves: Kimmy to Johnson and Dora to Larry (Zanjoe Marudo).

Parehong blockbuster ang dalawa nang ipalabas noong 2009 and 2012.

Both well-settled in a private manner, so to speak, patuloy pa rin ang pagbabangayan ng magkakapatid. All because they both want to have full control, specially in the operation of their father’s business which now include several others.

They are asked to undergo training from sexy Human Resources head, Rodin Bartolleti (Sam Milby).

Produced by Spring Films, Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel is co-produced by Quantum Films and MJM Productions. Joyce Bernal, one of the people behind Spring Films, is the film editor.
