Mag-atubang na usab og lawom nga tahas ang defending champion Tribu Sugbu ug Hapee/Dewfoam-backed Mantawi Sparkling Knights tungod kay sila man napilian ni National Basketball Conference (NBC) President Nathaniel 'Tac' Padilla nga maoy mo-representar sa 9th Crown Prince Cup invitational basketball tournament didto sa Thailand.
Ang duha ka mga koponan gipaabot nga mosakmit og dungog sa maong kompetisyon nga sugdan karong Agosto 26-30, 2005.
"We are honored to be invited. We will make sure the selection will be composed of the best players we have in our league. We would like to be as competitive as possible and at the same time give the other NBC players the chance to play for the country's honor," matud pa ni Padilla.

Si Tribu Sugbu coach Al Solis ug Mantawi coach Jun Noel maoy motimon sa ilang pagpanimpalad sa maong torneyo nga gipaluyohan sa Sulpicio Lines, Hapee Toothpaste, Dewfoam, Skygo Motorcycles, Sirlitz Solutions Providers, Spring Cooking Oil, ug Laguna Governor Teresita 'Ningning' Lazaro ug Mandaue Mayor Thadeo 'Teddy' Ouano.
Si Vic 'Rambo' Sanchez sa Laguna Spring maoy gitahasan nga mo-assist nilang Solis ug Noel.
"I'm excited and honored to be chosen. It will be a collective effort between three coaches and for sure we will be sending our best players. The earlier we can jell, the better for us," sumala pa ni Solis.
