Use Magsaysay's Doctrine to stop insurgency
Nowadays, whenever Malacañang officials issue statements especially about their on-going talks with the enemies of our state, I tend to look at it differently. I mean, why does Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Sec. Teresita Deles have to announce that there is no sinister scheme being hatched in the peace talks. Could it be that whatever schemes are being hatched has now been exposed by certain pundits to a point that she had to make that statement?
Could it be that this is part of the damage control being waged now by Malacañang insiders in order to diffuse the tension that they themselves have created especially when the Aquino administration was found to be pursuing an agreement with the Alex Boncayao Brigade (ABB), which held a reign of terror many years ago in a killing rampage where no one has been brought to justice? Mind you, there was a nationwide howl against this deal!
As we wrote a week ago, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte apparently tried to diffuse the tension by revealing to the press that the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa ng Pilipinas (RPA-ABB) apparently signed an agreement with the Estrada administration last Dec.6, 2000, an agreement that has been vehemently denied by former President Erap Estrada. This is why we said that under the Aquino administration, leftist advisers are taking advantage of the good nature of Pres. PNoy or his weakness to the point of even getting tax money from the government for whatever purpose or excuse they could give.
I interviewed ANAD Party-list Congressman Pastor Alcover yesterday, which will be shown on Straight from the Sky this Monday and he told me that 30 years ago, there were many anti-communist organizations that helped the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the fight against the New People’s Army (NPA) or the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) or the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the only assistance they got from the AFP were a few guns and bullets, after all they were frontliners in the insurgency infested areas when the military is not present.
Yet Rep. Alcover told me that they never got any monetary support from the AFP or the government. This is why it pains him that the Aquino administration was giving away our precious tax money to the enemies of the state without consulting the Filipino people. It is for this reason why Jun Alcover is preparing to file impeachment proceedings against Pres. PNoy Aquino. But the problem is, Atty. Oliver Lozano, a Marcos loyalist, beat him to it as he has already filed impeachment proceedings against PNoy for not allowing the still unburied former Pres. Ferdinand E. Marcos a state funeral. Only one impeachment complaint can be filed.
Last week we heard another bunch of denials from Malacañang and I am most concerned that they are denying that the AFP soldiers are restive. I’ve been texting some friends outside Cebu and they do believe that our soldiers are not happy with the current situation. Come now, you be the judge. If you are a soldier whose comrades were recently ambushed and killed by MILF terrorists and your Commander in Chief prevents you from doing a hot pursuit operation, would you be happy? I doubt it.
What really scares me at this time is that, when Malacañang gave millions to the ABB, you can bet that the poor people nearby would like to get a share of that money… and this could result in a new wave of recruitment for the ABB, which would strengthen this splinter group from the NPA. I can only reckon that the same thing would also happen to the MILF.
I already got emails from obvious PNoy supporters telling me not to toe the line of the destabilizers who want the remove Pres. PNoy by any means. But I’m not presenting any doomsday scenario here. I’ve read my history and a weak leader tends to be overpowered by more powerful forces. The Weimar Republic that was established in Germany after World War I was toppled by the Nationalist Socialist Party (NAZI) and a dictator emerged in Adolf Hitler who plunged Germany and Europe to World War II.
When the NPA, the MILF and the MNLF gain strength, they will coalesce and fight our established government. Worse, there are many military officers with a messianic complex who might just lead a coup against Pres. PNoy and then we’ll be back to square one! Our economy will slide down, our tourism will dry up and the biggest beneficiaries will be the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), the MILF and the ABB.
If we still have a strong insurgency today, it is because the government fights them with kid’s gloves. The late Pres. Ramon Magsaysay had a doctrine in fighting the enemies of the state, “Find ‘em, Fool ‘em, Fight ‘em and Finish ‘em and offer them the hand of peace.” But we forgot this already.
