11,100 cops to secure Calabarzon, Mimaropa

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Around 11,100 police personnel and force multipliers have been deployed to ensure the safety of travelers and motorists this Holy Week across the Calabarzon and Mimaropa regions.

According to the Philippine National Police, the Calabarzon has deployed 8,400 PNP personnel while the Mimaropa police has deployed 2,700 of its staff.

Calabarzon police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan identified 1,023 critical areas that require intensified police presence and security operations, including 216 places of worship in Antipolo City, Quezon and Laguna provinces.

The security measures would be augmented by personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard and other partner agencies, Marantan said.
