Public warned on goiter, thyroid supplements

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health yesterday warned the public on fake DOH social media accounts promoting supplements for goiter and thyroid disease.

The DOH said there are fake advertisements, social media accounts and websites using the agency as well as health experts to sell these supplements.

The DOH reminded the public to be vigilant and never share unverified health information on social media so as not to cause alarm.

The department also urged the public to get health information only from official DOH social media accounts: www.doh.gov.ph, @doh.philippines and DOHgovph.
