Crewmember dies after falling from ship

MANILA, Philippines — A crewmember died after he fell from a passenger vessel off the coast of Loon, Bohol on Friday.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) office in Bohol sought assistance from the Philippine Coast Guard after the crewmember was reported missing at 11:50 a.m.

The body parts of the victim were found at past noon.

Closed-circuit television footage showed the victim falling from the vessel while it was about to depart from the Tagbilaran port.

Authorities said the victim could have been struck by the vessel’s propeller.

The PPA did not provide details of the incident, including the identity of the crewmember.
