Marikina gets good financial housekeeping award
MANILA, Philippines — Marikina City was granted the Seal of Good Financial Housekeeping by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its transparency and fiscal accountability.
The DILG National Capital Region (NCR) awarded the seal to the city government under the leadership of Mayor Marcelino Teodoro for passing the 2022 GFH assessment.
At the same time, the DILG also awarded Marikina P100,000 for ranking third among the 17 local government units (LGUs) in the NCR in the implementation of the Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation and Preservation Program.
The DILG also commended Marikina for being the most improved LGU for 2022.
Teodoro and his wife, Marikina District 1 Rep. Marjorie Ann Teodoro, received the awards during the celebration of the city’s 393rd foundation anniversary on Monday.
