MPD seizes illegal fireworks in Divisoria
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Police District director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon inspected the confiscation of illegal fireworks in Divisoria yesterday.
In an interview with reporters after the inspection, Dizon said illegal fireworks worth over P100,000 have been confiscated in Divisoria alone since November.
Among the fireworks confiscated were “Bin Laden,” “Goodbye Philippines,” “Five Star,” “Super Lolo” and other brands long prohibited but still being sold in Divisoria.
The MPD’s explosives and ordnance disposal unit would dispose of the illegal firecrackers, according to Dizon.
The MPD director also attended the turnover yesterday of 100 patrol bicycles donated by the Association of Police Officers via Lateral Entry-Manila Police District Chapter.
The turnover was held at the MPD headquarters in Ermita.
The additional bike patrol units would help Manila police personnel improve their visibility on the streets, Dizon said.
