SSS runs after delinquent employers

Ramon Efren Lazaro - The Philippine Star

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines — The office of the Social Security System (SSS) in this province has visited delinquent employers to remind them to remit the contributions of their workers.

The visits, which were part of the SSS “Run After Contributions Evaders” or RACE campaign, involved serving notices to employers who failed to remit the workers’ SSS premiums and contributions to the Employees Compensation.

Gloria Corazon Andrada, SSS Luzon Central 2 division vice president, said the campaign is focused in commercial areas to raise public awareness that the state-run insurer is serious in its efforts to require employers to pay their obligations and protect the member-workers.

Employers were given 15 days to comply with the order.

They were also given an option to avail themselves of the pandemic relief and restructuring program or the enhanced installment payment program, which allows flexible payment terms.
