Navotas lifts liquor ban
MANILA, Philippines — The Navotas government has lifted the ban on liquor after Metro Manila was placed under the more relaxed Alert Level 3 for COVID-19.
Mayor Toby Tiangco said he signed Ordinance No. 2021-56 on Saturday, lifting the liquor ban as the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city continues to drop.
While the liquor ban had been lifted, Tiangco said drinking in public places remains prohibited in the city.
Navotas has recorded 196 active cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday.
The vaccination of minors with comorbidities aged 12 to 17 will start on Oct. 22, Tiangco said.
He urged parents to register their children to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
