2 riders caught delivering shabu

Robertzon Ramirez - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) turned over two delivery riders to the police after they were caught allegedly delivering methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to two returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) quarantined at a hotel in Taguig City.

In a statement yesterday, the PCG said one of the riders delivered a sachet of shabu hidden in a parcel containing a mobile phone and clothes while the second rider introduced himself as a cousin of one of the ROFs and delivered a package.

PCG and Bureau of Quarantine personnel who inspected the parcels found the shabu.

The Taguig police did not charge the first rider but filed drug charges against the second one along with the two ROFs, according to the PCG. None of the suspects were identified.
