3 kids drown in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — The bodies of three children who reportedly drowned in a river in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao on Sunday were recovered on Monday.

Rhea Balasa, 10; her sister Renny, 8, and Jennifer Suiso, 11, were playing near Simuay River when it overflowed amid heavy rains, according to the Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence.

Sultan Kudarat Mayor Shameem Mastura said search and rescue operations for five-year-old Rodelyn Balasa are ongoing.
