P.5 million shabu seized in Metro Manila
MANILA, Philippines — At least P500,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were seized in police operations in southern Metro Manila on Thursday.
In Pateros, Mark Anthony Mendoza, 35, and Rolan Sanchez, 43, were riding a motorcycle just before midnight when they were accosted for violating curfew and caught with nine grams of shabu with a street value of around P61,200.
In Pasay, 25 grams of shabu valued at P170,000 were confiscated from Jervy Naraja, Rey Naraja Jr., Paul Real, Sandy Israel, Alvin Cedilla, Joey de Leon, Jonathan Enriquez, Marcelino Sambayon, Angela Inserto, Charisma Campana, Mutya Barsal and Dexter Naraja during a sting at a house along P. Burgos street at around 5:30 p.m.
Gilbert Syrgco and Jericho Albasin were caught in a sting in Southland Townhomes in Las Piñas at around 6 p.m.
Nineteen grams of shabu with a street value of P129,200 were seized from Syrgco while Albasin was caught with six grams of shabu valued at around P40,800.
Nicky Calotes was arrested at his home in Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa at around 10:30 p.m. Police confiscated 25 grams of shabu with a street value of P170,000. –Ralph Edwin Villanueva
