MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways advised the public yesterday to brace for traffic gridlocks until tomorrow morning as it will repair sections of various national roads in Metro Manila.

Sections of EDSA’s southbound lanes will be closed for repair: the fifth lane from the sidewalk, fronting Sojen and Chevrolet; the outer lane from Magallanes-Baclaran bus stop going to Magallanes-Alabang bus stop; from Eugenio Lopez Drive to Scout Borromeo, for desilting and construction of a manhole.

The roadwork for EDSA’s northbound lanes is from the first lane from the sidewalk before New York street.

Repairs will also be carried out along the northbound lanes of Circumferential Road 5, from C.P. Garcia approach to Kalayaan Avenue Extension.

The southbound truck lane of Katipunan Avenue, from the Boni Serrano Tunnel approach; Quirino Highway’s eastbound inner lane, from Theresa Heights and before Belfast; the eastbound direction of Elliptical Road from before Commonwealth Avenue, seventh lane from the sidewalk, outer lane; and the westbound lane of General Luis street, from Oriental Tin, will also be repaired.

The DPWH advised motorists to use alternate routes until 5 a.m. tomorrow, when the repaired sections will be opened to vehicular traffic.
