MANILA, Philippines — Parking would be banned in the vicinity of Xavier School and Immaculate Concepcion Academy (ICA) and other busy streets in San Juan starting today.

Mayor Francis Zamora disallowed street parking around the two exclusive schools and along Club Filipino Drive and Annapolis, Missouri and Connecticut streets under Executive Order 7 he signed last week.

Zamora said yesterday he and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairman Danilo Lim and MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia would make the rounds of these areas today to implement EO 7, in accordance with the call of President Duterte to rid the streets of obstructions.

All vehicles parked in the aforementioned areas would be towed and their owners issued traffic violation tickets, the mayor said.

Zamora also directed barangay officials to strictly enforce EO 7 and find designated parking areas in their localities.
