Fire hits US Marines quarters at Westmincom
ZAMBOANGA CITY , Philippines — A two-story building occupied by US Marines at the Western Mindanao Command headquarters at Camp Navarro in this city was damaged in a fire on Friday.
District fire marshal Supt. Jhufel Brañanola said two fire trucks and a water tanker of the Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office were dispatched.
He said the fire, which reached the second alarm, was declared out after 20 minutes.
Damage due to the fire, including the personal belongings of the US Marines, was placed at P2 million.
An investigation is ongoing.
