Ramon Efren Lazaro - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects were killed in separate stings in Bulacan and Laguna yesterday.

Ronnie Radin reportedly pulled out a gun and shot at the police officers who conducted a sting in Barangay Dulong Bayan, San Jose del Monte City at around 2 a.m.

The lawmen returned fire, killing Radin at the scene, according to Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director.

Police said they recovered from the suspect a .38 caliber revolver, 13 plastic sachets said to contain shabu and marked money.

Meanwhile, Wilfredo Gonzales, alias Akong, died after he allegedly exchanged fire with police officers in Biñan, Laguna.

Gonzales reportedly pulled out a gun after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover agent in Barangay Dela Paz.

Police recovered a revolver and shabu with an estimated street value of P20,000 from the suspect.

Senior Superintendent Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said Gonzales was a major supplier of illegal drugs in the city.

In Isabela, village watchman Adjutur Tabug, 63, was arrested in a sting in Barangay Balasig, Cabagan on Saturday.

Tabug was collared after he reportedly sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover agent. – Non Alquitran, Emmanuel Tupas, Cesar Ramirez
