Two Chinese slain near MPD headquarters

MANILA, Philippines — Two Chinese were shot dead in broad daylight near the Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters in Ermita yesterday.

Yan Yi Shou and Wu Huai Hong were killed by motorcycle-riding assailants just in front of the Araullo High School along Taft Avenue in Ermita before noon yesterday, according to MPD spokesperson Superintendent Carlo Manuel.

 The gunmen were wearing jackets and helmets, police said.

Housewife Carla Joyce Chan and 19-year-old student Abegael Conde were hit by stray bullets during the shooting.

Police are still investigating the motive for the killing, Manuel said.
