MANILA, Philippines — Eight suspected drug pushers were killed in Bulacan and three others in Laguna as the police launched simultaneous anti-drug operations yesterday.

The police in Pandi, Sta. Maria and Balagtas towns reported two fatalities each and one each in Pulilan and Obando, according to Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna, acting Bulacan police director.

Bersaluna said six caliber .38 revolvers, a caliber .22, a caliber .25 and an improvised shotgun were recovered from the fatalities.

Sixty-two sachets of shabu and four sachets of dried marijuana leaves were  reportedly recovered from 38 others arrested in drug stings in Bulacan.

In Laguna, Jeffrey Tanaya allegedly shot it out  with anti-drug operatives who posed as buyers of shabu in Barangay Concepcion, San Pablo City at around 2:15 a.m. also yesterday.

An alias Duterte and his unidentified companion allegedly drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Banay-Banay, Cabuyao.

In Rizal, 10 persons were arrested in a raid on a suspected drug den in Barangay Dulong Parola, Cainta.

Police said a certain Daniel Cabra Jr. was identified as the operator of the drug den.

Around P1 million worth of shabu were recovered from six suspected drug dealers arrested during a raid on a house in front of the barangay hall in Rizal, Dinalupihan, Bataan yesterday.

Meanwhile, six other persons, including a barangay councilman, were gunned down in Batangas, Negros Occidental and Isabela in the past two days.

Businessman Rizal Abante and his wife Estelita were in an L300 van when they were waylaid in Barangay Manghinao, Bauan at around 6:18 a.m. yesterday.

Barangay kagawad Willie Castor, 58, was shot in front of his house in Gatuslao, Candoni, Negros Occidental on Tuesday.

Ernesto Mabalot, 69, and Carlos Domingo, 14, both residents of Barangay Sagana were in a tricycle when they were shot several times in Barangay San Isidro, Santiago, Isabela.

In Pangasinan, Job Emanuel Nicasio, 29, was driving his tricycle on his way to Dagupan City when he was shot by unidentified men in a car who tailed him in Barangay Nalsian Sur, Malasiqui.
