Councilman dies in gun attack

CAMARINES NORTE , Philippines  – A councilman was shot dead by unidentified assailants outside his house in Albay on Friday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Saturnino Pesino, 60, councilman of Barangay Palapas.

The gunmen fled after the attack, Bicol police spokesman Senior Inspector Malu Calubaquib said.

Calubaquib said they have yet to establish the motive for the killing.
