Baguio temperature dips further

Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The temperature in Baguio City dropped to 11.2 degrees Celsius yesterday, the lowest since October.

Rene Paciente, senior weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, said the temperature was recorded at around 5 a.m.

Paciente said the country would continue to experience chilly weather in the coming days due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

He said the northeast monsoon is expected to reach its peak in the last week of the month or until the first week of February.

Last year, the coldest temperature in Baguio City was recorded at 10.8 degrees Celsius.

The lowest temperature in the city was recorded on Jan. 18, 1961 at 6.3 degrees Celsius.
