IPs undergo business skills training
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A two-day entrepreneurial skills training for indigenous peoples from Hermosa town here is being conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The training was meant to teach the IPs to become entrepreneurs.
“These are the needs of the IPs that were identified during the briefing on the Bottom-Up-Budgeting (BUB) 2015 project implementation,” Cindy Jaime of DTI-Bataan said.
The training was part of the BUB fund project that was downloaded to the municipality of Hermosa, and was divided into three projects.
These projects included the local regional economic development, Yaman-Pinoy and and the rural micro-enterprise promotion programs.
“We equipped them with knowledge on proper costing and pricing to make their products competitive in the market,” Jaime said.
She said the 60 IP participants from Pastolan village would receive P10,000 each after completing the seminar, which they could use as capital to start their businesses.
