INC to motorists: Expect traffic along NLEX due to evangelical event
MANILA, Philippines – Influential religious group Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) advised the public that traffic is expected to build up along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) on Sunday due to its evangelical event at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.
The evangelical event called “Pamamahayag” started at 8 a.m., May 22.
The INC officials earlier issued an apology for the traffic expected as its members flock the evangelical event.
“To all commuters along NLEX, magsasagawa po ng dakilang pamamahayag ng mga salita ng Diyos ang Iglesia Ni Cristo sa Philippine Arena, Bocaue Bulacan, sa Mayo 22, Linggo ika-8 ng umaga. Expect heavy traffic po along NLEX,” the advisory read.
“Humihingi na po kami ng paumanhin at pang-unawa sa mga maaabala. Maraming salamat po,” it added.
In a radio interview with DZMM, NLEX traffic control specialist Michael Mallari said additional personnel will man the NLEX to speed up the toll collection and manage traffic at the Marilao and Bocaue exits.
Mallari said that there is also an acceleration lane for INC members who will return to Metro Manila after the evangelical event. —Rosette Adel
