1 dead, 16 hurt as van falls into ravine

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A man died while 16 others were injured when a passenger van fell into a ravine in Sablan town, Benguet last Sunday.

Among those taken to the Baguio City General Hospital for treatment was van driver Mark Darren Churol, case officer Police Officer 3 Nixon Banesen said.

Police have yet to identify the lone fatality since no identification or document was recovered from the victim.

Banesen said Churol lost control of the wheel as he was driving down on a road in Barangay Banagan at around 5:20 p.m.
