Plunder raps filed vs Noy for Iloilo project

MANILA, Philippines -  President Aquino, Senate President Franklin Drilon, Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson and Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. are facing plunder charges over the allegedly overpriced and still ongoing construction of the Iloilo Convention Center.

Former Iloilo representative Augusto Syjuco Jr. lodged the plunder complaint with the Office of the Ombudsman yesterday.

Syjuco accused Aquino, through the controversial Disbursement Acceleration Program, and Drilon, through his Priority Development Assistance Fund, of funding the project.

He alleged that the bare structure alone costs P611.5 million.

Syjuco claimed the Iloilo Convention Center is more overpriced than the Makati parking building.
