Fire hits Pangasinan sports center

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — A two-hour fire razed the stockroom of the Don Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center shortly after midnight yesterday.

Alex Ferrer, the center’s officer-in-charge, said the blaze destroyed mattresses, pillows and folding beds inside the stockroom on the second floor.

No one was reported hurt in the fire. Arson probers were still assessing the extent of damage.

The center hosted the 1995 Palarong Pambansa and other national and international sports events. — Cesar Ramirez
