P-pop group MNL48 to change name
MANILA, Philippines — P-pop group MNL48 announced that it will change both of its operating company and group name next month.
The group said in a social media post that the decision is part of its effort to move into the next chapter.
"Thank you very much for your continued warm support of MNL48," the group said.
"We would like to inform you that MNL48 plans to change both its operating company name and group name in January 2026.
"This decision has been made as part of our efforts to move forward into a new chapter, while cherishing the history, experiences, and strong bonds we have built together with our fans over the years. The spirit of MNL48 and the dedication of its members will remain unchanged."
MNL48 said that the details regarding the new group name and future developments will be announced at a later date.
"We sincerely thank all our fans for their continued support, and we kindly ask for your ongoing understanding and encouragement," it said.
Formed in 2018, MNL48 is dubbed as the P-pop pioneers in the country.
