Maris Racal, Cup of Joe to collaborate in ‘Yugto’ concert

MANILA, Philippines — Fresh from their latest individual successes, pop-alternative band Cup of Joe and Kapamilya actress-singer Maris Racal are set to collaborate for the first time in Yugto: Buhay at Pag-Ibig, A Concert for a Cause, happening on August 15 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.

Cup of Joe, currently one of the hottest musical groups in the country, continues to break records with their hit single Multo, which has now reached nearly 260 million streams on Spotify. The hauntingly relatable track about longing for lost love also gained further popularity as part of the official soundtrack of Viva One’s rom-com series Seducing Drake Palma.

Just last July 27, band members Rafa Ridao and Gian Bernardino were awarded Vocalists of the Year at the 2025 New Hue Video Music Awards, further solidifying COJ’s reputation as a top-tier OPM band.

Meanwhile, Maris is enjoying massive success as the lead star of Sunshine, currently on its second week in 35 SM cinemas nationwide. Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, the film is drawing audiences for its emotional depth and for Maris’ widely praised performance.

On August 15, Cup of Joe and Maris will finally perform together live. Though they’ve yet to reveal their chosen piece, they teased that it will perfectly capture the concert’s theme of bittersweet romance and emotional storytelling.

Dubbed the “Hugot Concert of 2025,” Yugto: Buhay at Pag-Ibig, A Concert for a Cause also features rising hugot-hitmakers Amiel Sol (Tibok) and Earl Agustin (Sa Bawat Sandali), promising a night of heart-stirring performances and music that speaks to the soul.
