MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada asked the Sandiganbayan for a four-day furlough so he can attend the last days of the Senate sessions.
In a motion submitted on Monday, Estrada requested that he be allowed to go to the Senate from May 30 until June 2 during the office hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
He added that he also wishes to oversee the removal of all his business and personal effects at the Senate as his term is about to end.
Estrada, who won in 2010, will finish his six-year term as senator this year.
He is detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame and is facing plunder and graft charges in connection with the P10-billion pork barrel scam.
