Pinoys in Dubai donate P2.37 M to Pablo victims
MANILA, Philippines - Overseas Filipinos based in Dubai donated a total of P2.37 million to victims ravaged by typhoon Pablo late last year, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.
Tipanan Restaurant, a Dubai-based restaurant chain owned by Mr. and Mrs. Clayton SUm, donated a total of P80,000 through ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. while the Overseas Pinoy Professional Photographers Society made a P27,672-donation through the Philippine Red Cross. The organization operates under the auspices of the Consulate General.
This brings the total number of Dubai-based donations to P2.37 million, DFA said.
The government earlier reported that a total of 1,067 people died in the onslaught of the typhoon, while another 342 remain missing.
The government said a total of P729.69 million from various countries, organizations and individuals has been donated to relief efforts following an appeal for humanitarian assistance.
