Francine Diaz lends support to Tacloban students

MANILA, Philippines — Actress and singer Francine Diaz has been a major participant in the “healing process” of students at a public school in Tacloban City.
Two weeks after the tragic shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban, where three students died, a simple but meaningful gathering was held there last July 6.
One of the highlights of the event was Francine’s visit and performance for the students as part of the psychosocial support initiative organized by the City Government of Tacloban under Mayor Alfred Romualdez.
Videos posted on social media show students celebrating and singing along with Francine, who is overjoyed with her visit to Tacloban.
It is also clear from the videos that Francine is also happy that she was able to at least help in the healing process of the students after the shooting incident.
The Department of Education Tacloban City Schools Division supported the event to continue the emotional recovery of students and school personnel.
“While face-to-face classes will resume, the healing process will continue beyond the reopening of the school. The Department of Education remains committed to providing sustained psychosocial support through appropriate school-based interventions and wellness activities that promote the emotional well-being of learners and school personnel,” DepEd Tacloban City Schools Division Superintendent Sherlita Palma said in a statement.
“Through music, art, and other uplifting activities, this initiative aims to provide moments of comfort, hope, and encouragement, helping learners and school personnel gradually recover and heal from the emotional impact of the tragedy," Palma added.
