Rhian Ramos, Michelle Dee face illegal detention, torture raps
MANILA, Philippines — The driver and personal assistant of actress Rhian Ramos filed a complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against her and her two friends, Michelle Dee and Samantha Panlilio.
Bonifacio Baro said the three allegedly repeatedly assaulted and “tortured” him inside the actress’ condominium on January 17, causing him to contemplate ending his life.
Bonifacio went to the NBI with Boy Evangelista, the president of Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC).
He approached VACC and asked for help to get justice for the alleged assault and illegal detention inflicted on him by Michelle and Rhian.
In a statement released by the lawyers of Michelle, Rhian and Samantha, they said they have not yet received a copy of the complaint filed with the NBI.
In a media interview, Bonifacio recounted that he and Rhian had just returned from a taping when the incident occurred. According to him, he was ambushed and assaulted by the actress and her bodyguards inside the actress’s condominium on the 39th floor of a residential complex in Makati.
“Galing kami sa taping… Pag-uwi ko po ng alas tres ng madaling araw, kami ni [actress]… Pagbaba ko po ng gamit, bigla akong hinawakan at binugbog ako sa loob… Nagmamakaawa po ako, at binubugbog pa rin nila ako,” Bonifacio said.
The next day, January 18, after the alleged assault, Bonifacio said he attempted to end his life by jumping from a 39th-floor window. His suicide attempt allegedly failed after he got caught on an electrical cable, causing him to fall and hit the 25th floor of the building.
After this, he allegedly went to the building’s lobby but was stopped by Rhian’s bodyguards and taken back to the 39th floor. There, according to the complaint, Michelle and Samantha allegedly joined in the assault.
In his statement, Bonifacio stated that Michelle allegedly stripped him, doused him with rubbing alcohol and forced him to perform acts against his will.
“Dumating 'yung [beauty queen], pinarusahan niya ako… Hinubaran niya ako, binuhusan niya ako ng alcohol sa katawan, tapos insprayan niya ako. Natanong ko siya, ‘Ma’am, ano po gagawin natin?’ Sabi niya, ‘Maglaro tayo,’” Bonifacio said.
“Hinubad niya sa akin, wala akong damit… Inispreyan niya mata ko tapos ginanyan niya ng dalawang daliri niya… Hinawakan niya kamay ko, ipinasok niya sa dalawang.. Dito niya, saka dito. Tapos 'yung kamay ko idiniin sa leeg niya,” Bonifacio said.
According to Bonifacio, Rhian’s two bodyguards allegedly continued to beat him and even forced him to drink his own urine.
“Ilang beses akong tumumba sa upuan, pero kahit anong makaawa ko wala na ako sa kanila. Tapos noong umalis si Ma’am may puntahan siya, tuloy-tuloy pa rin akong binugbog ng mga bodyguard niya. Mga kasama ko sa trabaho yan sila, hindi po sila naawa sa akin,” he said.
