MANILA, Philippines — The heat will be on in Manila as GMG Productions, in partnership with GWB Entertainment, will bring Cameron Mackintosh's globally acclaimed production of Boublil & Schönberg's Miss Saigon to The Theatre at Solaire in March 2024.

This Miss Saigon production, which opened in London in 2014, set sales records, won nine Whatsonstage Awards, and earned critical acclaim. It continued its success in Broadway and the US with rave reviews. After seasons in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, Miss Saigon will head to Manila, which has a rich connection to the musical’s history.

Sir Cameron Mackintosh, the driving force behind this production, expressed his immense excitement, saying, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be bringing my spectacular new production of Miss Saigon to Manila. Without a doubt, it is the best production of Saigon I have ever produced, with one of the most brilliant casts that have ever performed the show around the world. I can’t envisage another show of this scale being done in Manila for the foreseeable future.”

Mackintosh’s Miss Saigon, an award-winning classic since its 1989 London debut, has enthralled audiences across the globe for over 34 years. The show reimagines Puccini’s Madame Butterfly in 1970s Vietnam, telling a young Vietnamese woman named Kim’s emotional journey during the Vietnam War as she falls in love with American G.I. Chris while hiding a heartbreaking secret.

The Manila season, hosted at The Theatre at Solaire by GMG Productions, offers tickets exclusively through TicketWorld starting on Nov. 6. There’s early access through UnionBank of the Philippines, the official sponsor and pre-sale partner, or the GMG waitlist at www.gmg-productions.com during pre-sale period from Oct. 23 to Nov. 3.
