MANILA, Philippines — Before the event proper, special guests and gorgeous beauty queens graced the Red Carpet on Saturday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena for the much-anticipated Miss Universe Philippines 2022 coronation event.

Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu was stunning in her red gown and also served as one of the judges, along with Miss Universe Philippines 2006 and CEO of GlamourBox Lia Andrea Moss.

The evening’s hosts Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach paraded their beautiful gowns. Pia changed her outfit four times, starting with a white gown, followed by yellow, red and blue ensembles as she paid tribute to Filipinas who won the Miss Universe titles in the past.

Also present were Miss Universe Philippines Organization national director and Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup, Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up Venus Raj, Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida, Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa, and Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.

From the very start, newly-crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi of Pasay City was an early heavy favorite to win the title by pageant websites and fans alike. The crowd would consistently cheer for her every time her name was called during the live event at MOA.

Another scene-stealer was Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez wearing stunning suit by Filipino fashion designer Francis Libiran. She had a chat with the hosts about her Miss Universe journey and how it changed her life.

Bamboo opened the act with his electrifying performance, Sam Concepcion serenade the ladies during the swimsuit competition part while American Idol finalist Francisco Martin performed his original composition Stay during the evening gown portion.

Aside from the announcement of winners, it was also a “goosebumps moment” when the queens Demi, Iris, Pia, Bea and Harnaaz walk on stage and posed while Morissette Amon was singing a powerful ditty I Am A Woman towards the end of the program.
