Yves Flores: Worth the wait
Yves has found the right onscreen partner in Loisa Andalio

When Yves Flores joined Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4 in 2012, it seemed a foregone conclusion that he would go on to enjoy a successful showbiz career immediately after the show. He did, but it took a while for him to find the right onscreen partner to help him get to that point in his career.

During his stint as a housemate, he was linked to Myrtle Sarrosa, his season’s eventual Big Winner, but their love team never caught on with viewers.

It wasn’t until last year that a right onscreen partner was found for Yves in the person of Loisa Andalio. (Incidentally, Loisa is herself an alum of Pinoy Big Brother, having joined the show’s All In edition in 2014.)

?Loisa and Yves were first paired in an episode of Ipaglaban Mo before they were cast in Be My Lady, the kilig serye that replaced the long-running Be Careful With My Heart as the Kapamilya network’s morning offering.

Yves admits he was a little discomfited at having to work with someone new at first because he had gotten used to being associated — and working with — Myrtle. But he soon found that he and Loisa had a natural chemistry that couldn’t be denied. So Yves put his misgivings aside and got to work.

“Loisa and I worked together in Ipaglaban Mo,” he says. “On the set, Loisa and I bonded. We found time for each other. We were comfortable with each other.”

Yves says he and Loisa also exerted effort to bond away from the Be My Lady set. “Once in a while if we don’t have taping, we go out with friends. We help each other if we got problems. We’re open to each other.”

They’ve gone to amusement parks and watched movies together in an effort to become closer, and it seems to be working. “I enjoy her company,” Yves admits.

However, their four-year age gap — he’s 21, she’s 17 — has become a bit of an issue when it comes to their bonding time. Because Yves and Loisa are at such different points in their lives, it’s natural for them to have different interests.

“She’s 17, so she likes to go to Star City for the rides. But I am done with those. We also love to eat,” says Yves.

As an onscreen partner, Yves is all praises for Loisa. “She is easy to work with and is open to suggestions. And as a tandem, we will do our best.” — With reports from Almed Garcia and Julian Mauricio
