IN PHOTOS: Alice, Toni honored as 2014 Women of Style and Substance

MANILA, Philippines – TV5 star Alice Dixson and actress-singer Toni Gonzaga were among the personalities honored at this year's PeopleAsia magazine Women of Style and Substance awards on Monday night.

 

The women feted at the special awards night, held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza in Pasay City, also include Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Philippines-Universe 2014 Mary Jean Lastimosa, Bb. Pilipinas-International 2014 Bianca Guidotti, Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2014 Yvethe Marie Santiago, and GMA-7 journalist Kara David.

 

Completing the list are Ateneo de Manila University volleyball player Alyssa Valdez, model-philantropist Jenny Rockett, and automobile executive Maricar Parco. 

 

“I feel blessed to be given this kind of recognition,” Toni said. “I think I'm a woman of style and substance because I stand up for what I believe in and I stick up to the values and principles that I grew up with.”

 

“I think [I'm a woman of style and substance] because of the public service, the charities that I support, and how I serve as a role model,” Alice said.

 

Joanne Rae Ramirez, the editor in chief of PeopleAsia magazine, said the women chosen to be honored this year “does not sacrifice style for substance, and vice versa.”
