The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Andi Eigenmann said she is showing support for her former boyfriend Jake Ejercito, whose family is now facing another political problem in connection with the detention of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.

Jake is a son of former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada with Laarni Enriquez.

Andi became close with the Estrada when she and Jake were sweethearts. She remains a good friend of Jake.

“Just like his other friends. I do care about him, never ko naman dineny (deny) 'yon. I'm here to assure him na I'm here, he's not alone,” Andi said.

The actress admits that she has nothing to do with the Estradas' problem, but explained that as a friend, she feels she needs to defend them. “I do care, and I know them. So ayaw ko po na hinuhusgahan sila ng mga tao in a certain way because I know who they are and I know they're not like that,” she said.

Meanwhile, Andi said she is already moving out of from the house of her mother, Jaclyn Jose, and currently busy slowly moving to her own condominium unit.

The Kapamilya actress clarified that her moving out has nothing to do with her “tampuhan” with her mother before.

“I'm already 24 and of age,” she explained. “I want to be able to learn, to be more independent in that sense. Especially now that I have my daughter na.”

Andi also revealed her plan to go on a vacation and spend quality time with her child, Ellie, after the ABS-CBN fantaserye “Dyesebel” ends this week. “Since I gave birth never na akong nawala sa TV, I've been working, working,” she explained. “I do consider that as a blessing, I'm very grateful. Pero after Dyesebel, I think it's about time na I rest muna.”
