Yeng Constantino making moves to become an int'l artist

MANILA, Philippines- Female pop icon Yeng Constantino admits that she would also like to enter the international scene.

“Oo naman, siyempre isa 'yan sa mga pangarap ko,” she admits in a recent interview. “We are trying, it's not easy. Kapag nakita mo si Christian Bautista parang instantly 'di ba? Pero it's something na dapat pagbunuan ng pawis.”

She relates that through the help of her talent handler Cornerstone, they’re finding ways to make that dream come true.

“We're making efforts din na mangyari nga 'yon na makarating ang music ko sa labas ng bansa, na marinig nila,” she said. “Siyempre adjust din kung ano ang kailangan ng isang kultura, pero at the same time hindi mo kakalimutan ang roots mo. Hindi naman nila maalais sa akin na maging Pinoy, Pilipino pa rin ako.”

Her first step to the international ladder is her being the Ambassadress of the Academy of Rock in Singapore for the second year, which has paved the way for her to work with other artists from different countries and culture.

Yeng, meanwhile, said that if ever her dream comes true, she would never give up her career here in the Philippines.

“I think strategy lang din 'yan, e. Kung aalis ka dapat may iiwanan ka,” she replied when asked if she’s willing to give up her career here for an international one. “Kunwari aalis ka, madali naman gumawa ng music videos, e.

“As I said nga, nakikita ko ang market ko is online. So nakikita kong may advantage din 'yong paggawa ko ng music video, pino-post ko sa YouTube, paggawa ko ng video blogs na napi-feel nilang nando'n pa rin ako. So I think phasing lang 'yan, e, tsaka kung paano gagawin.”
