Farmer dead in gun accident

SOUTH COTABATO, Philippines – A farmer died when his dog jumped on a shotgun that went off in his house in Lake Sebu town here Sunday.

Danih Afwan Safi, 45, died while being treated in a clinic due to a pellet wound in the body.

Investigators said the incident occurred as Safi was attending to visitors at his farmhouse in Barangay Lam Fugon.

The visitors must have agitated the dog, causing the animal to jump on the gun that was on a table, police said.
