Stay connected with Bluetooth sunglasses

-
Motorola and Oakley have unveiled a new line of premium Bluetooth-enabled sunglasses designed to keep consumers cool, connected and always mobile.

Called RAZRWire, this latest technological innovation represents the fusion of advanced Oakley optics and Motorola’s industry-leading, third-generation Bluetooth technology.

The product was designed to meet the needs of active consu-mers seeking seamless mobility in one easy-to-use design. For cyclist, skateboarders, rock climbers, golfers and practically anyone who is active outdoors, the innovative sunglasses encourage hands-free connection wherever they are. With the RAZRWire, people can quickly answer, place or ignore phone calls with the touch of the button.

RAZRWire is expected to be available in the second half of 2005.

"Motorola’s leadership in Bluetooth wireless technology has opened doors for an industry leader like Oakley which has the credibility and engineering expertise to collaborate on breakthrough products," said Arlene Amarante, country mana-ger for Mobile Devices Business of Motorola Communications Phils. Inc.

According to Amarante, the new line of wireless wearables creates a seamless experience for active consumers where they can go from one environ-ment to the next and stay connected at the touch of the button.

Jim Jannard, Oakley’s foun-der, chairman and CEO, said the RAZRWire sunglasses dramati-cally expand the possibilities of design. "Our product engineers continue to break new grounds to meet the needs of customers," he said.

RAZRWire’s unique features include Oakley’s O-Luminum frame which is 40 percent lighter than pure titanium; three different options for placement of the speaker and the convenience of never having to worry about tangled wires.

The RAZRWire line of glasses feature three frame colors with impact-resistant lenses filtering out 100 percent of the ultraviolet light. Meanwhile, the advanced Bluetooth technology provides superior audio clarity and faster connections.

The multi-function button on RAZRWire is capable of receiving and dialing by voice (on compatible phones) at a range of 30 feet from the host cellphone.
