Nissan unveils new Almera model

Louella Desiderio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) has launched the new Almera to compete in the passenger car segment and strengthen its vehicle lineup.

NPI president and general manager Atsushi Najima said during the launch of the all-new Almera, the new vehicle is being introduced to make its vehicle offerings even stronger following the automotive firm’s rollout of three game-changing models this year.

He said the Navara pickup launched in March this year and the mid-size sports utility vehicle Terra unveiled last month, rank second in their respective segments, while the full battery electric vehicle LEAF introduced in May signals the company’s push for sustainability.

“The all-new Almera is the smart and stylish sedan that first time owners, growing families, and young professionals can trust,” Najima said.

“As part of Nissan’s transformation plan in the Philippines, we are offering a unique and exciting challenger in the competitive passenger car segment,” he said.

The new Almera features lower, wider, and longer exterior dimensions using Nissan’s Emotional Geometry design language, while retaining the roomy interior space to provide comfort and convenience.

Powered with a lighter 1.0 liter turbo engine, the Almera generates a powerful performance and high fuel efficiency.

The new Almera also comes with Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that provide monitoring and intervention technology to provide car owners more confidence and safety in their daily drive.

These features include intelligent forward collision warning, intelligent forward emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, as well as intelligent around view monitor with moving object detection.

The new Almera is available in four variants: the 1.0 EL Turbo MT priced at P728,000; 1.0 VE Turbo MT at P938,000; 1.0 VE Turbo CVT at P998,000; and 1.0 VL Turbo N-Sport CVT at P1.098 million.

It also comes with a vehicle warranty of five years or 150,000 kilometers, whichever comes first for the VE and VL variants.

Customers can choose from any of the six colors: cayenne red, gun metallic, galaxy black, premium corona orange, brilliant silver and pearl white.
