Resorts World boosting hotel rooms to 3,555

MANILA, Philippines — Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc. expects the number of its hotel rooms in Resorts World Manila to increase to 3,555.

TIHGI president and chief executive officer Kingson Sian said this is the most number of hotel rooms that can be found in a single property.

The additional rooms come from the opening of Hilton Manila in October 2018, Sheraton Manila Hotel in January 2019,as well as the upcoming opening of Hotel Okura Manila, collectively adding 940 hotel rooms at the Grand Wing.

With the partial opening of the Grand Wing in 2018, additional gaming spaces were added to the existing Garden Wing and Holiday Inn Express casinos, allowing the company to further improve its premium and VIP segments.

TIHGI president and chief executive officer Kingson Sian reported that the company’s net income reached P1.4 billion last year as revenues from both gaming and non-gaming segments rose 17 percent to P24.7 billion. RWM has four hotels Marriott Hotel Manila, Maxims Hotel, Hilton Manila, and Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City.

The Grand Wing will add international luxury hotels such as Sheraton Manila Hotel and the Hotel Okura Manila.

“For the past two years, our efforts have been focused on rebuilding and expansion. That focus is reflected in our performance last year,” Sian said.

Foot traffic averaged close to 28,500 per day, ending the year with a total of 10.4 million guests.

Meanwhile, average occupancy rates for Marriott Hotel Manila, Maxims Hotel, Hilton Manila, and Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City remained steady at 79 percent, Sian said.

Sian revealed that with the partial opening of the Grand Wing in 2018, additional gaming spaces were added to the existing Garden Wing and Holiday Inn Express casinos, allowing the company to further improve its premium and VIP segments.
