BPI clients say salary not yet credited after systems upgrade
MANILA, Philippines — Clients of Bank of the Philippine Islands waiting for their mid-month pay took to social media Saturday their dismay upon discovery that their latest salary was not credited yet in their accounts days after bank’s systems underwent a major upgrade.
The Ayala-led lender earlier announced that its online banking, mobile app, Bizlink platform, ATMs and CAMs, as well as debit and prepaid card services would be temporarily unavailable from April 5 to April 7 due to system enhancements.
On Friday, April 12, BPI said all its banking channels were available for clients’ usual financial transactions, but slower access to the bank’s online and mobile platforms was expected.
“We are pleased to inform you that payroll of our SME and corporate clients can now be processed via our cash and transaction management platform,” BPI said.
But some clients complained that their salaries are not credited in their BPI accounts and payroll services are down.
Payroll and savings ko sa BPI, kailangan ko ng pera di maka transfer or makawithdraw. Ano na po? @TalktoBPI nakakastress kayo.

Responding to irate customers on Twitter, BPI said: “For payroll concerns, you may coordinate with the HR department of your company.”
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on Thursday said it was aware of the post migration challenges encountered by BPI after the recent upgrade of its core banking system.
“The BSP team has been closely coordinating with BPI to ensure that their remediation efforts are on track to restore service levels to their clients,” the central bank said. — Ian Nicolas Cigaral
