US-based IT support firm expands in BGC

MANILA, Philippines — US-based Information technology services and technology support firm CSS Corp. is expanding its presence in the country as it opens a new facility in Bonifacio Global City (BGC).

CSS chief executive officer Manish Tandon said yesterday the company decided to open a new facility in the Philippines as the country remains an attractive location for business outsourcing companies.

“Philippines continues to emerge as an outsourcing hotspot for global players, given its strong understanding of customers in US and EU (European Union), coupled with the surge in digital-savvy talent and technical skills. We are confident that the new delivery center will aid our strategic vision of being more responsive to our customers, while remaining committed to the local economy within the country,” Tandon said.

For his part, CSS country head Arvind Kingsly Appavu said the Philippines is a preferred destination for support capabilities due to the ease of doing business and talent pool with exceptional language skills in the country.

“Coupled with strong labor policies and government incentives, the country brings tremendous potential for growth in the near future,” he said.

For the newly opened facility in BGC, CSS is set to hire 400 employees engaged in technical support, help desk, customer support and account management in the next six to eight months.

Covering 24,218-square feet, the new facility features state-of-the-art workspaces, two training centers, technical labs and collaboration rooms.

Taking into account the employees, the new facility also has recreational areas including a 24-hour cafeteria, karaoke and billiard rooms.

The opening of the new facility in BGC increases CSS’s presence to eight locations in Asia.

CSS launched its first facility in the Philippines, also in BGC, in 2009.

Last year, the firm opened two new development centers – one in Costa Rica, and another in Bengaluru, India.

At present, CSS has a team of 5,500 technology professionals across 16 global locations.
